If price is no concern and you're only lugging it around the house, why not go for the 17"? My Father has one from his work, and I must say, using a gorgeous 1920x1200 display from the comfort of a couch is very, very nice.

Also something to keep in mind is that you can remove the glossy from the 15 and 17-inch models.

I'm surprised the 13" MBP isn't in the lead by a large margin in the Poll, so far the 15" seems to be the favorite.

I say that because the 13" can be hooked up to an external display, so you get power, display, portability.

Perhaps the 15" is in the lead because people use it away from the desk without a monitor when out or even around the house, couch/chair.

Therefore the 15" gives more screen size away from the desk - good point.

I'd say 13.3'' MBP (Highest model) and if you want a larger screen to view, hook up to an monitor.

No, it just means more space for your icons, palettes and windows.

Yes, and higher resolution which all equals less strain on the eyes especially if viewing the screen for many hours at a time, the 15" is easier on the eyes than the 13", yes?

After owning over a dozen laptops... I have to say that the MBA w/SSD is the finest laptop I have ever owned bar none. I do not even enjoy using my 15" MBP anymore. It is just too big and clunky.

I use my 15" MBP (upgraded with an SSD) for work exclusively... connected to a 24" display at my desk, or portable during my meetings. Once I leave work... I never turn it on again. I use my personally owned MBA exclusively. If I could get my employer to replace my 15" MBP with a MBA I would do it in a heartbeat!

I also just ordered a 27" iMac for home. This computer will hold the original masters of all of our digital media, and will be used for photo editing, etc.

Yes, I hear you loud and clear on the MBA, it's a real nice and quite capable machine. I thought it get more votes ...

I've bought 3 so far for my offices, everyone loves them and would never give them up ... for me it's just not quite enough for a 'main' machine. When I travel I do take an MBA though but for around the home office and house the 15" or 13" MBP handles the workload better.

My sister in law has an AIR. Every time I go over she always looks so
enviously at me it's insane! I swear she wants my laptop. She doesn't
have 10.6.2 on hers so that's another thing she drools on about.

My brother bought a 15" macbook pro and he was sitting on the couch, him with his aluminum unibody, me with mine and she had her air.. You could
totally tell she was wanting one! It was funny to try and see her use
multi touch gestures- she didn't have them on hers. Watching her throw her
hand up and down, and pinch, and nothing happening, just made me giggle.

Then I would look at my brothers macbook. I think it's the 15", might be the 17"... dunno. I didn't like it because it
was too bulky, large in size. 13" Seems to be the sweet spot for portability.
Next week I am going to get a new monitor so when I am not on the go I can dock it and enjoy some real estate for
Photoshop and Excel.

Ideal would be a 15" MBP and a MacBook Air.

The 15" have the extra power and screen size, the Air is a real nice thin and light notebook, especially with the ssd.

That would be my choice over a 13" MBP I think.

You could use MobileMe, Sugarsync or DropBox to sync files.
