Can you guys believe it? The iPhone 7S and "Pro" model invites will be sent out pretty shortly! We have less than a month before the invites go out (based on by previous apple invite history for the iPhone). Then, the conference is only a few days after, and then the release of the iPhones are usually a week after. Regardless, the phone should be coming out around the second week of September. I cannot wait.

Also, the iPhone "Pro" will not be delayed. @OnLeaks confirmed that it went into mass production just the other day, ready for an early September release. iPhone 7s/Pro now in mass production (click here).

We see this rumor annually where the iPhone "Will be delayed." I don't believe everything I read when its pertained to the iPhone being delayed. The iPhone 7s and OLED model will launch on time. It was actually rumored that the OLED model was going to start production early due to initial demand when released.

Meet the new boss. Same as the old boss.

Yawn! I have a 6s+ already.

And don't quote improved internals at me. I don't need bleeding edge tech to send an email, make a phone call or answer a text message. My boring 6s+ can do that just fine.

Countless people who have their mind set on the new iPhone are going to upgrade regardless due to updated hardware.

Yep. But unless the physical aesthetics of the device changes I will not be one of them.

It's like buying the same model of car year after year. A lot changes under the hood, but the outside only sees marginal changes over time. I see no point in buying a fourth iteration of the iPhone 6.

I am the opposite of others in where I put my priorities on phones. I prioritize aesthetics over hardware/features. I do that because the iPhone is already capable of meeting the miniscule demands I ask for in a phone.

And as I have mentioned several times in many threads here we only upgrade our devices every 2 to 3.5 years. During that time I want to like the phone I use every day, not hate the sight of it.

I always love this time of year, as incredibly geeky that sounds. From the invite breakdown, to the keynote, to the preorder hysteria, and then the week-long wait for the phone itself. Even if I have no intent on upgrading, it's pure entertainment for me.

Right, I understand where you are coming from. The 6s is also great, I miss the Space Gray color haha.

As with most smartphones and lots of things in life, it's not about need, it's about want.

You might enjoy the Sprint threads when they happen.

Pure hope, heartbreak and rage that plays for a couple of months past the time the mods unsticky the other threads. Every year the bamboozled Sprint customers are left hanging, wondering why Sprint has done them wrong.

Usually makes for an interesting read.

Precisely!

And in getting what I want I often end up fulfilling what I need.
You chose a good one to hold onto. I can imagine the 6s will unanimously be decided as the most "safe" older dated iPhone to buy, due to how well it holds up and the headphone jack still in place.

Well…it wasn't by choice.

I'd actually still be on my iPhone 5 if it weren't for Sprint's network (and probably still on Sprint for that matter).

But I wanted my pound of flesh so I got a 6+ out of them, not because I wanted that model. Then we ported later to T-Mobile and getting an upgrade was minimal cost so I didn't see the point in replacing a 6+ with a 6+ when upgrading boring was painless. So, I did it.

But again, not because I ever wanted the phone for it's looks.

As far as the jack, let's just say I'm not a fan. I know lots of other people are and I respect that, but I'd much rather it all be BT or wireless.

None of this is to devalue your post. I get the point you were trying to make. I just wanted to be clear about why I have boring. :D

The iPhone 7 Keynote was in the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium September 2016
Rumor is that Apple wants to do the 10th Anniversary iPhone Keynote at the Steve Jobs Theater at the new Campus But I don;t think its even ready to go.

Steve Jobs Theater features a 1000-seat below ground auditorium. Is that big enough? Bill Graham Civic Auditorium is a 7000 capacity arena.

Who is quoting internals at you? If you're content with your 6s Plus and the latest upgrade doesn't appeal to you, then so be it. As you said before, you have options from other competitors, being it seems certain iPhone characteristics don't apply to you.

It was more a forestalling of the usual argument to me how I should upgrade because internals have been improved.

Not that anyone at that point had made the argument. It's just usually the next step in the conversation by now.

I know you have concerns about that fugly bump on the back of iPhone, I too believe that was the worst part of the iPhone design since the introduction of 6 Series, which unfortunately will be even bigger Fatter and uglier than we have see before in the new model. Fortunately that's not much problem for me because i use cases. And for those who don't use cases it may be when laying it on table it wobble like crazy, or when texting or using your phone while lying on table. Or whatever you experience.

I too wish Apple make it flush with back like iPhone 5, but it's Apple they have to make it "thinner" with every generation, and i don't think apple will remove that bump in near future. The only solution is put a case and forget about it. But i understand that doesn't apply to everyone :-(

When is the actual date of the september event? I am definitely buying a new phone because i upgrade every 2 years. This upgrade is a must due to OLED mostly.

That makes sense. Only you make the decision of what you want to upgrade to and what appeals to you. Hopefully this next iPhone offers something in your preferences, if not, then there is nothing wrong it's that and having options is always beneficial.

No one knows until Apple sends out the invites but it's likely to be one of the following:

September 6th OR September 13th is my guess

Pre-order will probably follow on Friday the 8th or Friday 15th
