Well I finally managed to pickup my new MBP from my mums where it was delivered. And from what I can see it looks perfect. No dead pixels, no backlight bleed that I can see. Bit late to start installing etc so will start bright and early tomorrow :D.

Here are the specs:

17" MBP
1900x1200 Glossy
160 GB @ 7200rpm

My only mac to date is an old Emac, its served me well and has mad me love Tiger. But it is a bit slow at opening things etc so can't wait to play with the MBP.

From the short play I had it looked fine. I have some bright lights just behind where i took the picture from and thus they were shining right onto the screen and i saw no obvious reflection. It did pickup the light on my camera but then i did have that quite close to the screen. Hopefully it will be nice and sunny in the UK (I wish lol) and will see how the screen is then.

well i saw it in the store its colors are very much better than the matter screen....i have a glossy screen laptop...at first it will make you go crazy a bet..reflecting your face on it..but then you will find yourself not caring about that and focusing on the stuff you doing on your screen instead.. =D...so yah in the sunny day you will not be able to see anything on the screen..dont bother trying.:p

congrats!

hey, man -

congrats - it looks great.

this might be the picture - but i do see a brighter area on the lower part of your monitor (2nd pic down, left side) - is that just the angle of the screen?

i'm noticing it because i've read all these threads; and am a little weary of buying one just yet --

let us know --

You bumped an 18-month old thread that had absolutely nothing to do with your question to ask something that you could have answered by yourself in 2 minutes using Google.
