This may have been found previously, but some apps that were not downloaded from the Mac App Store are showing this new "x" that unninstalls it. Google Chrome (dev version) And the beta version of Dropbox (1.2) both have the X in Launchpad.

It appears to me as though every app that didn't come preinstalled can be removed through launchpad now.

Maybe things that are installed after the most recent update. I still have apps without X's.

I think you may be right. I just installed a few apps (from websites, not from the app store) and they all showed up with X's.
