Interesting you say that. The brand was initially copied after the real Budweiser, a Czech beer. So you might say it's just returning to it's European roots.

Personally I don't care much for Budweiser and would drink a Stella before a Bud any day of the week.

Indeed Budweiser is the REAL beer (The Czech version) Bud (American) isn't allowed to sell in a lot of EU states due to the copyright infringement that american companies seem to be able to do but all hell breaks loose when someone copies and American name

I see this as a good thing, it's showing the weight of the EU :)

Really.

Just what each respective company desperately needs... BMW, a little of that Italian reliability, and Fiat, a little of that Germanic flair. ;)

Yikes, lets hope that goes better then Alfa's short-lived partnership with Nissan in the 80's, in what has to be one of the worst carts in the world, the Alfa-Romeo Arna

Wikipedia said:
The Arna was however not an economic success, and production ceased after only four years, most likely due to the bizarre fact that the Arna exhibited the worst qualities of each of its parents. While customers would expect an Italian-Japanese vehicle to feature cutting-edge Italian styling and lithe driving dynamics coupled to reliable Japanese mechanicals, the idiosyncratic Arna was the reverse. It carried on Alfa's legacy of electrical issues[1] and tempestuous mechanicals married to a Nissan body of questionable build and frumpy styling, with insipid handling common to Japanese cars of the time
