A vid just got posted that showed real world synched/timed opening of apps and the 6s is a split second faster.

Sorry.

Its official.
Thanks for the vid. Pretty much shows there is nothing in it between the new iPhones and we don't need to worry about this insignificant detail any longer :)

----------

I chose the 6+ because of the higher PPI and resolution, better camera, and improved landscape mode. The 6 feels like nothing more than an overclocked 5s. I feel there is little reason for its existence.
If the iPhone 6 didn't exist, people like me would have to consider other manufacturers that produce smaller devices as the 6 Plus is just too large for some of our tastes. There are markets for both sizes and we need to remember that. ;)

It would appear based on Engadgets review that the CPU speed on the 6 and 6 Plus is the same whilst the GPU on the 6 Plus is clocked higher.

Here are their scores:

You can see that in the CPU benchmarks it scores lower but in the GPU heavy 3DMark it scores 1,000 points more.

Doesn't really mean one phone is faster than the other though because that GPU lead the 6+ has right now will vanish once apps start pushing more pixels on it when they are optimised. So essentially the two phones will perform identically eventually.

Seriously who cares, not like it's a difference anyone is going to notice either way.

All early benchmarks are showing analogous scores. The Geekbench app shows the same frequency, the same RAM, Apple says it's the same chip, what more proof do you need? Apple gives you a choice for once and you behave like children trying to defend yours.

I doubt anyone will notice any difference when opening an app or booting the phone. If there is, what are you looking at? Maybe a second difference?

I'm glad the 6 exists, because of the iPhablet was the only offering, I would be very disappointed. I'm old school and like my phone to be relatively unobtrusive, as well as having other devices to do 'real work' on.

What a massive waste of time.

The 6+ is the perfect phone for people who like their phones extra large. The 6 is the perfect phone for everyone else. Ultimately, we're all getting an amazing phone.

Live and let live.

Yeah... But it's my time to waste.

What IS official is that reviewers are noticing display issues on the Plus because of the downscaling.

It's evidently really apparent on *gasp* Safari Tabs! RAM whiners are gonna go NUTS.

6 FTW. Maybe they'll put a non-downscaling screen in the 6S+?

Downscaling is that issue no one complains about until they realize it's actually a thing.
