Apple has posted a podcast [iTunes Link] for today's media event which brought a number of new announcements:

- Apple Releases iTunes 9: New Media Syncing Options, Genius Mixes, iPhone App Organization
- Apple's Focus on Games: Madden NFL 10, Nova, Assassin's Creed, Riddim Ribbon
- Apple Updates Entire iPod Family, Bringing Capacity and Performance Bumps to iPod Touch and Video Camera to iPod Nano
- Apple Releases iPhone OS 3.1 for iPhone and iPod Touch

The podcast video can also be directly downloaded through this url.

The event also marked Steve Jobs' return to the keynote stage after having received a liver transplant earlier this year. This clip shows him walking on stage at today's event:

That podcast video is downloading ridiculously slow! It says it's gonna take 5 hours to download it on a cable line.

Hopefully later tonight/tomorrow morning it should go faster.

WOW 1 He got a liver from a 20 years old boy who died in a car crash accident.

Steve seemed rather contrite during the first part - he perked up when he started talking about great new products though.

He does look a bit better too. It might be the white balance but he looked like he had got some sun. I don't know if thats from the immuno-supressive drugs people typically take after transplants (he could be more sensitive to sunlight).

Wtf

so wheres the tablet. after 4 years of waiting it looks like we are still going to be waiting.

Green button no longer for mini player

The green button that has switched to the mini player in every version of itunes no long does this. It only zooms the window. Kind of like how the windows version works. The only way to get the mini player now is to select it in the view menu or use the keyboard shortcut for it.

Not cool. There is no reason that just because we have feature parity with the windows version should it should work just like the windows version in every way.

Oh and home sharing seems to break regular sharing. Or maybe I don't have enough machines to see if the original sharing feature still works.

It’s sort of miraculous considering he had a transplant less than five months ago.

David Pogue was on CNBC today talking about his interview with Jobs. He said Jobs said since he had been away there were several projects at Apple that needed … then he stopped. Pogue said he asked him, “rescuing?” And Jobs said, well “polishing.”

He hinted that there would be additional announcements soon.

Or hold down “option” and click the green button. :D

The original sharing feature still works fine. Blue shares are for sharing only (like before), and the new orange shares are for sharing and copying.

Genrosity

So here is a lesson, don't be stingy and donate your organs, it could save an important person's life (steve jobs):D seriously ppl, be generous

anyways, can't wait for the future.

He looks healthier than before - definitely put on some weight. Also, remember, the camera always makes you look worse than you are.

I think his hoarse voice probably adds to the overall 'unwell' picture - but that could just be a sore throat, or having been talking all week in meetings.

Obviously he's not in the prime of fitness, but none of us would be after what he's been through the last five years.

Respect for the man - his drive to keep working is something.

Wow

I never though I would say this but Steve looks like a shadow of his former self. I'd love to see what he is like in private meetings. Hope he still has that same productive temper he had in the past.

Twitter/FaceBook

I see that support for Twitter and FaceBook is there in the drop down of the albums on iTunes 9. I don't recall them making note of this in the presentation.
