HomePod It's taking a long time... Hmm... Hmm..

This started a few weeks back. It appears to only affect the OG homepod? However my ATV 4K is also being dumb. Siri commands on both devices take forever. OG HomePod constantly says it's "taking a long time". ATV 4K says the same when I do a voice search. All other Apple devices have no issues, HomePod Mini, watch, phone, iPad. No issues with "taking a long time" there. It's not my WIFI, not my internet. It's these devices specifically.

I found a post on Reddit with other users of the OG HomePod also having similar issues.

Anyone else?
 
Yep. A lot, when calling on scenes. Yet for me at least the scene executes perfectly. And quickly. It's just HomePod Siri doesn't think so, and will tell me "this is taking too long" and "one of your devices didn't respond"

Well, which one? Care to share? Nope... Siri won't tell you which device (That would be far too helpful).

You would think after several years, both HomeKit and Siri would be polished by now. A gleaming example of form and function. I think maybe Apple needs a HomeKit and Siri hero... an advocate inside the company. Right now, it sometimes feels like either nobody uses them, or nobody cares.

It seems we’re in luck. This was reported just last week lol. Afrooz Family is our hero! I would’ve definitely named him Adams though if he were my kid.

Good to know it's not just me. Yes, I have scenes with many lights. Still no issue with any device except the OG Homepod. Hoping maybe 15.1 will fix it.
 
A new RC version of IOS 15.1 have just been released. Perhaps another is available for audioOS as well, to solve the popping issue on the Homepods.
 
Yep, same issue for me.
Pathetic really, does Apple not do any QA on HomePod?
I mean, this is not a small issue that affects a few, this, as far as I can tell, is an issue for MOST HomePod users using HomeKit and/or Shortcuts.
