Its the end of the world as I know it.....

I don't have much advice about FEMA and such but I would think you and your wife could find some part time gigs somewhere during the holiday season. I don't know what kind of area you're in but most places near where i live need extra help with the holiday season. It wouldn't solve all your problems but it might let you squeak by.

Well, my job that I start Monday is going to be a long term solution. As for right now, my wife is baby sitting, as that way she gets paid right then as opposed to having to wait to get paid two weeks.

Thanks for the words of encouragement!

You guys all rock.

Hey man, Sorry to hear about your situation. I've been there before (not the hurricane part, but the not being able to pay the bills part) and I know what a gut wrenching experience it can be. I'll be praying for you...
Whoever said to contact a church, that's an excellent idea. I would also like to suggest that you contact your local Mormon church. They have a special fund set aside for people who are in need and I am sure they will do everything in their power to help you. PM me if you need any help finding them.
Let us know how everything turns out!

HANG TOUGH BRO!!!

I'm an agnostic so I don't know if my praying is going to help you but I'll pray for you anyway!

Dude, move your butt. Usually stress come from something we are not doing. Things has change and we have to adapt fast, keep your energy level hi, is a transition until everything normalize again.

I have perfect idea of your situation but the good thing is that you have your familly and you have to work as individuals and as a team.

Many people are running out of money as you are, pay attention to what they are doing. Probably some are getting money from some source but they are keeping it quiet.

Keep fighting, change your strategy, do not wait for the help, reach for what you need.

Good luck.

Really sorry to hear that, man. Especially since I always had the luck to live on the brighter side. My best wishes go out to you and your family and although I am Atheist, I'll pray that things get better for you fast.
Just hang in there, appreciate the things you have, like your family, and thank god or whomever that you are alive.
As I always say, there are no good or bad experiences. In the end they're all experiences, learn from them, grow from them.
Again all the best to you and your family. :)

Well things are starting to happen. We got a loan from a family member for part of what we need, and we have been given help from some of the people here.

You are all wonderful and I thank you for the words, and support.

Ok, I have had quite a few emails requesting my info to help us.

my email is chuckstacey@gmail.com

And my address is 1042 Camellia Blvd #5210
Lafayette LA 70508

To those who have help us financially I have to say thank you so much. For those who have encouraged us, we say thank you as well.

You are all some of the most wonderful friends that I have ever had.

Well, I have to say that I am completely blown away. In less than twenty four hours, I have received over 20 emails that were very supporting. As of now, we have had over $400 sent to us, and it is amazing to me that you guys and gals are as giving as you are. We even had an offer for a place to live for a short time. Unreal!

I have been a member here for over four years now, and nothing here ever seems to suprise me. When I was at GC we donated an iBook to a guy that had been scammed. I had some of you text me updates on the Hurricane when we lost power. We just want to say thank you all. We cannot tell you that enough. For the help, the words of encouragement, and the prayers. I owe you all that are thinking of us everything. And anything you ever need from me. If I have it, it is yours.

The only thing we need from you is the knowledge that you and your family are okay.

This thread is very touching, especially after reading some junk ones talking about cheating on one's wife and stuff. It's good to see such relationships formed where people actually love one another.

I don't know you at all, but I will promise I will include you in my prayers. God will work an amazing thing in your life through this if you trust in Him. Just thank Him for the blessings He has already given, most importantly your wife, and He will take care of the rest. God Bless you.

I truly hope you make it through ok, and once I get some money around here I could shoot some your way, just stay strong.

My prayers and thoughts are with you. I definitely believe that miracles can happen and I hope they continue for you.

I remember a story my grandmother used to tell me about her mother. Her family went through some really difficult times growing up here in the States, and they once got down to having no food in the house. As her mother sat in the kitchen fretting and praying over their situation a stranger came to the door and just gave her a bag of flour. No one outside the family knew their situation. She'd never seen this man before and she never saw that man, again. When my grandmother asked her mama why she was crying after she was given this flour her mama replied "Do you know how many things you can make with flour?" Call it coincidence if you must, but it's definitely a miracle in my book, and I hope you get the miracles you need!

That is kind of what is happening to us. We are having people send us cash that we have never met. It is truely amazing, and if we reach what we need, of course we will stop taking help. This is just amazing the kindness that we are receiving from the members here.

I think we are going to make it. We have received several acts of kindness, and we are close to being where we need to be. Thank you all so much.

I first want to thank you all that sent us cash. It was a suprise, and it was a blessing. Second. We did not make it. We tried. You all tried. But we did not make it.

I am going to put my iMac in the marketplace, and maybe we will get lucky and sell it. I just don't know. I have no idea how to go forward from this. On one hand I am excited as I just started a new career with a great company, and on the other hand here we are with an eviction notice in hand. Just pray. Please. Pray.

I love you all, and thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

Make sure you get something, even a small partial payment, to each and every utility, charge card etc. to prove you are paying it off. Main thing is to avoid reconnection and collection fees - those add up in a big hurry.
