Those of you who say "who cares?" - it's not an interesting question in relation to posts here, because we aren't concerned with things being written correctly unless there's a real comprehension issue (that's why the rules ask people not to correct each other's spelling and grammar).

But speaking as a proofreader/editor, I find it not only interesting but necessary. And it's confusing as well, because different journals often ask for different things in their stylesheets, and if you're working on several jobs simultaneously, it can be a real pain to remember which version of "right" applies to the text in front of you.

Perhaps each client should have a their own spell-checker, with their idiosyncrasies noted from the style-sheets?
