Check software update.
Edit: apparently not iOS 4.2. At least not yet.
Yes, just tried it...Thanks
You're kidding me? The double rumor that insisted the delay to 11/6 really tricked people. I guess the original rumor was true. Too bad I can't check right now.
It really is out.
Right you are...thanks for the heads up!
I'm downloading it now.
Mine says 4.1 is the current version and Software Update on my Mac says there is nothing to update.
I see iTunes 10.1, not iOS 4.2.
Just 10.1 then?
Anyone confirm 4.2?
Anyone with GM know if it's a new build of 4.2, perhaps with this wifi problem fixed?
iTunes 10.1 but no iOS 4.2 yet.
What's new in iTunes 10.1?
Yeah, I jumped the gun on iOS 4.2. I assumed it would be out since the bullet points were all about AirPlay on ATV2 and allowing iOS 4.2 to be installed. Hopefully later today.
It supports iOS 4.2 for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch.
And also it supports AirPlay!
A new Airplay icon is the only difference I have noticed so far.
*Crosses fingers for the iOS update*
Maybe someone should change the title of this thread...at least for now. Especially if 4.2 isn't coming out until next week, as claimed.
Edit. Well done. Someone did it as I was typing.
Stupid pepole should be more clear abought this before you just post on here that there is a upgrade.
Anyone know how to update from the 10.1beta to offical release??
I think we won't really see iOS 4.2 for iPad until next Tuesday
Already did it.
From software update:
What's new in iTunes 10.1
Use AirPlay to instantly and wirelessly stream videos from iTunes to the all-new Apple TV.
Sync with your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iOS 4.2.
Provides a number of important stability and performance improvements.
I started a thread on this in the MAC APPLICATIONS page. What I was told over there is that you must download the new itunes from apple.com as if you were a new user... installer will take care of the rest...
you will NOT see the new version of iTunes by checking for the software update through iTunes... I will try it as soon as I get home from work (in 2 hours)..
I hated the 10.1 beta! so buggy!!!! but i couldnt wait to get the iOS 4.2 GM so I had to get the itunes beta.. glad the final release is out!!!
Just download the Installer, instead of update from iTunes.
Just download iTunes from here and run the installer: http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
UPDATE: Just saw the other post
iTunes 10.1 on Windows 7 definitely removed the "Enable Airprint" checkbox in Preferences :-( which is what I used to Airprint to a shared printer on Windows.
