Until i upgraded to iOS 5 a few weeks ago i was able to do the following:

  • 1 Find iphone compatible ringtones
  • 2 Download them to my computer
  • 3 import them into the iTunes Library (ringtones)
  • 4 and then sync with my iphone 3gs.
Well i just got the iPhone 4s and now not only did my old ringtones NOT transfer over, but i can't see to add a single custom ringtone through iTunes.
I tried everything. It could be a setting that I'm missing? Anyone? Any ideas?

PLEASE HELP!!! :confused::confused:
Anyone experiencing the same issue? or know how to fix. I can add more details if needed. Thanks in Advance!!

Well i fixed my own problem!!!
i had to delete all my ringtones.
add new ones (mp3 format) in itunes Music library.
convert to AAC there.
rename the m4a file to m4r file and then drag into the ringtones library and from there sync with my iphone ringtones.

IT WORKS! Who cares how many steps!!:)
Im a happy camper!

Sorry no one got back to you.

It is documented online ref changing the name of the ringtone and making sure its 30 seconds or under and then drag it to the ringtones section of iTunes.

Glad you got it resolved.
