I just got a 4th gen ipod touch and itunes on my mac does not recognize it. The charging icon shows up, but that's it. It worked temporarily when I tried this fix: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1747 , but I tried to sync it again and came to the same problem. I've also tried different ipod cables, all of the USB ports, and restarting the computer. Has anyone found a way to permanently fix this problem? Thank you
