Is iTunes 11 expected to be launched with iOS5? Or will it be 10.5?I haven't followed the betas so I don't know what stage we are at. Either way, what would you like to see in a new version of iTunes? (iPhone related features or not)

My list:
-Speed up the program for Windows. It's currently terrible.

-Be able to manage a device without having to plug it in (not wireless syncing). I want to be able to arrange my apps, edit contacts, change wallpaper etc from my computer, and then have send those settings across with the next sync.

-Bring back colour to iTunes. Grey is dull.

10.5 only

Horary, a new thread that’s not about what model phone is coming.

Yes 10.5 is what is currently expected (Doubt 11.0 will be the "Just one more thing.")

10.5 only

That's not really true. 10.5 is only in beta because it has the Wi-Fi syncing and iTunes in the Cloud facilities. Otherwise there would be no iTunes beta, like every year, Apple will push the new major update to iTunes without anyone from outside of Apple having seen it.

It's pretty easy to imagine how they'd fit it in the keynote.
"Well we have this great new iPhone, now all we need is a new iTunes to go with it, and here it is... iTunes 11. New features include, UI overhaul, full iCloud integration, etc etc etc"

I hope you're right, it would be weird to have a new iPhone but the same old iTunes. Is this how it's been done in the past?

Not really, typically the iPhone was announced at WWDC, then iTunes was unveiled at the September music keynote. Since the iPhone wasn't announced at WWDC and there was no September music keynote, it would seem logical to them both at the same event.

I just don't think they'd release a 10.x version of iTunes, especially considering 2011 is it's 10th anniversary, after starting in January 2001. I for one am expecting iTunes 11. I could well be wrong though

Whatever the version, I'd really like it if Apple added an option to "Manually manage" pictures in iTunes.

Instead of constantly syncing, I'd like them it to be like music and videos where when you tick "Manually manage music and videos" iTunes, you can directly drag and drop files into the iPhone without the need to sync to some folder.

They should also give us an option to delete pictures straight from the iPhone, like they've given us to delete music in iOS 5.

Seems colorful enough to me if you compare it to a truly colorless version of the iTunes UI:

Agreed. How about bring back color to OS X Lion altogether?

But i'm really looking forward to iTunes 11, hoping it comes out with an iBookstore, because this is the only reason i'm buying books from Kindle.

Will they force us to upgrade to the new itunes, or can the old version still be used?

I think if you want a new version of iOS, you need the latest version of iTunes.

EDIT: After setting up iOS5 I don't think it will be necessary since you don't really need a computer after iOS5, but to install it you will need a new iTunes version.

then i wont update to the new ios. I am very happy with 4.3.3 as it is. So no update here, ever... Not until they force us to upgrade the itunes...

i believe you'll have to use iTunes to upgrade to iOS 5, and after that you can be computer free.

iOS 5, A5, iPhone 5, iTunes 10.5, Oct 5, Fast Five, Five Guys Burgers

Come on man! Get with the program!

As i said, i WONT be upgrading at all. I will be at my 4.3.3 until my iphone dies for good, then perhaps i'll upgrade, we'll see..

Not at all. I like my iphone as it is, and wont exchange it for any ios's ever, thats why. I am quite happy on 4.3.3

Ah, for the jailbreak i presume?

Thats correct, if i see a untether version of ios 5, i might try that on my old 3GS iphone, not on my new iphone 4, that stays as it is, for now..

You do this already in iTunes 10.5. To edit your contacts, you'll have iCloud enabled so open address book and edit away. Its synced to your phone in seconds.

Wow, that's pretty cool. Thanks for letting me know :)
