The moment I updated to iTunes 12.2 I noticed a big portion of my library was duplicated, and many songs were incorrectly named.

And other songs which weren't duplicated were showing as "Duplicates".

It seems, from what other users have said, that it might have something to with having used iTunes Match in the past (not currently).

Anyways, just wanted to give a warning and to see if anyone has any solutions.

Thanks!:)

I've seen other posts like this.
I think I'll wait a few days before taking the leap; and do a backup of App and music library first.

Is there not a way to sync an iTunes playlist to an iOS device as in the past?

I found my solution.

  1. I restored a past backup of my iTunes library, from Time Machine.
  2. Turned iCloud Library on. All my duplicates appeared.
  3. Purchase an iTunes Match subscription.
  4. Manually deleted every song from my library, specifying when doing so to also delete it from the cloud.
  5. Disabled iTunes Match.
  6. Restored my library from my backup again.
Now I'm going to recover my $30 dollars from Apple from my iTunes Match subscription.
