Any way to get the iTunes sidebar back, always, not just in playlist view?

How do you sync your iPhone or iPod to iTunes now if that part is going from the side bar? They used to show up on the side bar, now what do I do?

I was seeing this too. I rebooted my iphone and it's showing up in itunes now.

Thanks, I was just coming here to post the same thing. I had to reboot the devices then plug them in hardwired, and it asked if I want to trust these devices, then it worked again.

found this trick in another thread
Select "Playlists" from any view and it comes back, at least wile you're in that view.

It seems to remember you selection, once you have made it for each media type, so doing this you do kind of have the side bar back.
