iTunes 7.6.1 VERY slow file transfer?

Importing either audio or video into the new version of itunes (7.6.1) is incredibly slow.

In older versions importing an album (mp3s, not ripping from a cd) would take maybe a minute max. Its taking much longer now. MP4 video is taking around 10 mins for a 1gig file.

Any one else experiencing this?

Everything is working as per the previous versions on all my machines.
