I don't care anymore.
There, I said it.

Honestly, I DO care, but it's too tiring to think about. I'd like to forget about it until the speculated product comes out, if it does, which I think it will.

Then maybe I will buy it. I will try to stay with my crappy phone for 6 months until giving up on the iPhone. If it's not out within the next 6 months... yeah, it better be.

But watch my buy a new phone ONE DAY before the suprise release of the super-amazing iPhone. It's doomed to happen.

Would you please go buy a phone then.
I'm tired of waiting on Apple.

Hehe...

So tired of it

Am I the only one who's getting really tired of this whole iPhone thing? Yeah, it would be cool... but the rumor mills are freaking *obsessed* with it. I've never thought the marriage of phones and mp3 players was a good idea anyway though, but still. Beating a dead horse is only fun for so long... and then the stench gets old.

I can't take it anymore. My Sprint contract is up and my Nokia 6225 is beat.

I had high hopes going into yesterday's media event, but now I have to accept the fact that the Apple phone is either never going to happen or its going to happen after I commit to another phone/contract.

The worst part is that I held out on buying a new laptop because I was sure that the Intel iBook replacement was going to have a widescreen and come in black.

TA DAH now I'm just waiting until I have enough saved up to get the specs I want.

It's not the marriage of the ipod and a phone, its the fact that it will (ideally) have a fantastic UI. Most cellphones these days treat the UI as an afterthought.

And even when it comes out, it'll be a phone. That's it. Nothing special at all. So what....it plays video? Syncs music with iTunes? Syncs perfectly with iCal and address book? Will it's camera be 2MP? Allow for Skype as well?

So what.

Perfect

Yes. Thank you! You put it really well. A couple years of speculation and second guessing and waiting... and in the end, we'll have a phone. Yeah it's Apple, yeah it'll be a great interface... but it's still a phone.

It's probably so well known now, but when installing iTunes 7, if you customise the installation it says "iTunes Phone Driver". Could just mean the ROKR (maybe iTunes picked up that I have one from previous connections?).

I would agree.

There will be no Apple Phone. There, I said it. No phone will be released by Apple.

I really don't see an Apple phone. First there is already a huge market in this area. Apple actually stays away from established product and focuses more on their core products (Computers) and new products that may not have a strong nitch in yet. When Apple started its iPod MP3 players were not a big deal and listening to music was mostly relegated to listening to it on the PC. So Apple took the concept of a portable MP3 Player and made it small enough to be portable and easy enough to use so it can be used all the time time. That is also why they are going into the "iTV" because right now there is no good media center system, that is useful for normal use and you don't need to wire your PC next to your TV. But Cell Phones, Everyone makes them they are already popular, and are in common use. The iPhone will require apple to make deals with Cell Networks, or make its own which is expensive. Then its popularity is based on other products that are in the market and what the provider has to offer.

while i would love this to point to phone's being made by apple.

there are cell phones which are itunes compatible already on the market.

They just have a VERY stupidly limited amount of tracks people can store on them, no matter how large the memory card people put in the phone.

can we say that this restriction by apple sucks? YES APPLE, let loose the restrictions.

Finding hidden code doesn't mean anything. We'll get it when we get it. It isn't like steve jobs has some contest he's running. FIGURE OUT WHAT'S NEXT and WIN ONE!!

We know a phone is coming. Steve said it months ago.

c'mon... enough with the phone already.

I can already watch video, streaming television, connect to the internet with EV-DO, listen to music, play games, and make phone calls on my Samsung A900 (phone sucks by the way). Why would I want a phone made by Apple, other than for syncing purposes?

Sure it's gonna look nice, but just because your girlfriend is hot doesn't mean she can cook too... ya know?

Look at Porche and there ventures into uncharted territory (they created their first SUV)... it absolutely sucks.

I love apple, but don't get your hopes up too high. You'll just get your feelings hurt.

What's with the negativity my brother? I understand your frustration with this topic being talk about incessantly, but you can't fight it, you can only transcend it and focus on more important things.

Now for more important things:

When is the MBP going to get Merom?

That would be one of the features for Quicktime (Quicktime 8?) that was announced when they were talking about Leopard at the developers conference...

Which fits in well with the iTV product just previewed.

Od that. Almost as if Apple have some sort of plan.

iTV: Q1 2007.
Leopard: Q1 2007 (?)

Also, where's the SDK to make iPod games?!

That's the real issue right there. The more AAC devices we get (and people use), the more Microsoft loses ground with their WMA format.

I'd much rather see Apple manage my content than Microsoft. And given the size of the Xbox 360, its price and it's loudness, it's no match for the "iTV".

That's why the "iPhone" is extremely important, even if I probably won't ever have one (I don't want my cellphone to drain my music player battery or vice-versa).

Yeah......probably sometime in 2007 or before christmas.......but i am sure they wouldn't announce 2 major products the same day
they will space the two releases...
