Even though the Apple iTunes page shows iTunes 7.7, if you click on the download link, it will in fact download iTunes 8. Go, go, go!
Magnetosphere is the new visualizer! A few tweaks though.
And discuss...

Software Update shows Quicktime 7.5.5 available... iTunes is sure to follow.

While setting up Genius:

Feel free to use iTunes while this happens.

Pfft! CPU usage going through the roof, songs stuttering and pausing during playback. What on earth is this Genius tool doing when it is gathering information that it needs so much power?!

took 5+ mins to create artwork thumbnails.. but after that.. got into iTunes 8..

i do actually like the grid view.. although the skimming feature a la iPhoto Events isn't there (that i could see anyway)

havent tried any Genius stuff yet, but all in all seems ok so far!

What an underwhelming update.......and as I expected, still no capability to keep your library in sync across multiple computers. Does Apple not know that many people have both a laptop and desktop computer??

No idea but I was listening to my music while letting the Genius tool do it's thing and everything was fine. Anyways, how the hell do I get rid of the arrow that links to the music store? I can't find it anywhere in preferences, I remember being able to get rid of it.
