iTunes 9 Import Settings

I want the import settings to be MP3, 160 kbps, VBR, medium quality.

But I want 160 kbps to be the maximum kbps, not minimum. Is this possible?

Thanks for your help but in Import Setting it says it's the minimum, and I've re-encoded a lot of songs and they're all over 160kbps.

are you doing 160 kbs to save space? I am just wondering. I have spent quite a bit of time re-importing my cd collection because iTunes imported them at 192 instead of 320

also, on my import settings, it says 128 is "good", and 160 is "high", and 192 is "higher" quality. But if you choose 160 and they are ripping at higher, i wonder why...?

Yeah I thought it would be the average, but it’s definitely the minimum. When I look at my files in the Get Info window in Finder, their bitrates are all over 256
