iTunes 9 Import Settings

I want the import settings to be MP3, 160 kbps, VBR, medium quality.

But I want 160 kbps to be the maximum kbps, not minimum. Is this possible?

Thanks for your help but in Import Setting it says it's the minimum, and I've re-encoded a lot of songs and they're all over 160kbps.

are you doing 160 kbs to save space? I am just wondering. I have spent quite a bit of time re-importing my cd collection because iTunes imported them at 192 instead of 320 🙁

also, on my import settings, it says 128 is "good", and 160 is "high", and 192 is "higher" quality. But if you choose 160 and they are ripping at higher, i wonder why...?

Yeah I thought it would be the average, but it’s definitely the minimum. When I look at my files in the Get Info window in Finder, their bitrates are all over 256
