iTunes and iPhoto updates safe?

Is it safe to update iTunes to 10.6?
What about iPhoto? I don't see how updating iPhoto would affect a jailbroken device (maybe photo stream will stop syncing?) but I want to be sure.

i would assume iPhoto is too, but have no credible source
