iTunes: Best Way To Transfer Purchases?

I've just installed the Lion GM on my new SSD, clean install. What is the quickest way to get all my purchases (Music, Apps) back in iTunes.

I've tried dragging and dropping apps from my old HDD and iTunes is throwing up errors.
