Now its just a question of when in November it will come out.

The original Page 2 Rumor cited November 26th, but that date is probably just as realistic as any other. I would imagine it would be later in November rather than earlier though... At least we know we're getting it for sure in the near future!

Changes to Itunes tonight

I just clicked Music Store and the message that says not yet available has changed. Rather than linking through to my previous selection, it now asks "To browse a music store, click here". Once I click on that, I get the page with all the country buttons. When I choose U.S., it goes back to "To browse a music store...

This is different than before. I wonder if this is them gearing up to launch sooner than the 26th?

I live in Toronto and I just had the same experience as mertab. I cannot access the music store , even to browse...the "Your country..." text is a different font now and this is exactly what happened the night prior to the big "European" unveiling.

:) Could I Be Anymore Excited!!! :)

iTMS... WELCOME TO CANADA!!!

Here we go>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Well after some playing around I found:

So I guess it's due out for really soon...

I can't get in period. I get the browse music screen, and then when I click to continue, I get a pop-up: "Could not complete the Music Store request. The store may be busy. Check your internet connection or try again later."

Do you really think we would see deployment on a saturday? Doesnt seem right to me. Maybe this way the load is spread out as most people would not find out until Monday?

Someone please take away my credit-card.

Blatently Its Going To Happen on Saturday

Look Guys,
Regent Street is opening tomorrow, tomorrow is the last day of MacExpo, OBVIOUSLY THEY ARE GOING TO DO IT! it's a huge international day tomorrow. AND weekends are awesome for holiday shopping. if steve knows what's good for him it's gonna happen tomorrow!

I totally agree + the fact that if you really want you can get in and have a peek at the library... anybody have a Canadian artist that is currently not in the stores Apple deployed to date so that I can check if it really works...

That's true, but you have to remember that it was happening to everybody in the world whose country didn't have an iTMS. At most, I think we can assume that the iTMS is going to expand soon. Of course, since Apple's publically announced that the iTMS Canada will be opening this month, we know that it's happening soon..

Add that to the flag circworld found, and it's pretty conclusive.

How did you figure this out?

Looking at the source of the country select page and mixing the results with the iTMS Link Maker

http://ax.phobos.apple.com.edgesuit...le.app.store.DirectAction/countrySelectorPage

Notice that there is a hole in between 48 (Greece) and 50 (Italy)

Example 1: (Store Front: Canada)
http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/...lid=23588535&id=23588537&playlistName=Vertigo

Example 2: (Store Front: Ireland)

Well, I'm stuck in the endless loop too. Someone also said earlier that Apple had events on sunday.

My guess is for tomorrow, 2004-11-21.

As for the flag images, well, I sure hope Ireland gets their iTMS soon too. This "U2 iPod" is ridiculous if Ireland doesn't even have a iTMS. :(

If, like me, you're sitting and waiting for Apple to officially make the Canadian iTMS available, here's a fun thing to do:
1. Go to the home of the iTMS.
2. Select the UK. Just stay at the "The iTMS is not available in your country yet" screen.
3. Go to the above Canada Vertigo link maker link. Click on the generated Vertigo link.

The attached window will pop up. Of course, when you click "Go to store," it dumps you in the U.S. store and says the item's not available.

Waiting anxiously...

You can still get into the store to browse, although it still appears to be the US store (when you go to buy song it specifically asks you to start an account for the US Store).

Just type in the artist you are searching for in the top right searchy box in iTunes, and you'll get in.

WAIT A SEC...I just did the above but I got into the Vertigo section, no error message or anything! What do I do now? Or am I still in the US Store...

EDIT: Never mind, it's still the US Store after all, but I don't get that error message in either in the Canada or Ireland links.

I thought this day would never come! Although I think we'll get screwed over on the song price even thought our dollar has jumped up to $0.80. Ideally, we should be paying CDN $0.99 per song and Americans should be paying USD $0.79 . I used "The Long Tail" article from the October issure of Wired as reference. It's a really good article!

Don't forget in Canada that we already pay out millions to the recording industry just for buying mp3 players and recordable media, therefore our price should be significantly reduced as we have this tax imposed on us. Personally I'm going to have a hard time justifying purchasing music off itunes when I already give the recording industry money with out even getting any music for it.

Can someone please post jpegs of the clues to a Candian and Ireland iTMS because my school doesn't have iTunes and I can't see the pics :(
