I have just got a new macbook pro, everything was working fine on my old G4. The first time I plugged in my ipod iTunes couldn't see my ipod but iphoto could.

Please don't say I've got to restore my ipod

Any suggestions please. I have tried restarting everything, reinstalling latest software etc. I have tried different USB ports to connect the ipod....

OS X10.6.8 / itunes 10.4 / iOS 4.3

If you have another computer, try restoring your iPod on that one, then plugging it in to your MacBook Pro.

Thanks for your reply, but unfortunately I can't use my old PowerBook any longer.

I suggest bringing in both your iPod and Mac to an Apple Store and see if they can help you out.

There was an iphone software update that I didn't do because I don't own an iphone. This also sorted the problem with my ipod, which was a known issue.
