In the U.K yesterday was Comic Relief Red Nose Day where comedic talent helped with public donations raise a lot of money for good causes home and abroad.
I just purchased a video sketch off last nights broadcast via Itunes and was amassed to find of the £1.89 fee the charity was only receiving £1.32 and Apple was taking 57p.

I realize Apple have costs but really a 57p take ?

Last time i looked at the balance sheets, times are good Mr Jobs so please a little less greed.

You mock Bill Gates but he could teach you a lot, although not in the areas of software or hardware admittedly 😉

If someone can provide a breakdown of that 57p i am ready to eat humble pie.

If I had to guess I'd say that covers the royalties & etc. that Apple pays out to whomever the content comes from.

But I don't know.

That's the 30% Apple keeps for EVERY iTunes purchase. Apple has no idea if the money is being donated to charity or not.

I don't know if Apple has this in the UK, but in the US iTunes store they've established the ability to make a donation to the American Red Cross and ALL the money goes to the Red Cross. You can donate $5 to $200.
