Hopefully someone with experience can help...

I have just purchased the iOS developer program and I have a little query about iTunes Connect.

I am developing an app for a friend and he wants to release it under a certain company name. When I go through the 'Add a New App' thing in iTunes Connect it prompts me for the company name straight away. Now is this related to the individual app or will this be used for every single app I ever upload?

When I get some more time I will be developing apps by myself, and I don't want to release them under the same company name as the app I've done for my friend.

So when I go to upload a second app, will I get the chance to enter a different company name or will it use the same one I enter the first time?

Thanks.

Adding a new app doesn't prompt for company name. That has already been set as part of the enrollment process. Perhaps you mean something else?

Then he needs to enroll his company in the iOS Developer Program on his own.

P.S.
Make sure you have read through Program Enrollment support info.

Every app for that developer account forever. Once you set a company name it can't be changed (unless perhaps you are incorporated or incorporate, have a company enrollment, legally change the name of the corporation, and sic your company lawyers on Apple.)

Thank you for all of the information and that useful link. I will sort this out between me and him and likely just use my name.

I just submitted my first app a little over a week ago and it does ask for a company name. I believe it will ask only on the first app. This company name is used for categorization of the apps.

If you look in iTunes on your phone, the one it is now asking for is the one that's shown on the top under the app name. The real company name of your account is shown towards the bottom labeled "Company" under the "ratings", "tell a friend" and "app support" buttons.
