iTunes crashes when syncing until I right-click on taskbar!

Hi all,

I have just discovered an extremely strange issue with syncing my iPhone with iTunes...

Basically, whenever I sync my iPhone, iTunes gets stuck at the message "Syncing". Only way to stop it is to disconnect and close iTunes, but means I can never sync.

Tonight I discovered how to fix it...right-click on the iTunes bar in the taskbar while it is stuck! When I do this, suddenly iTunes comes back to life and carries on syncing as normal. Literally, all I do is right-click on the taskbar icon for iTunes (I don't even click on a menu item).

Anyone got ANY idea what is causing this? I think it might be a Windows 7 issue?

iTunes: 8.1
