itunes crashing onload, windows xp

hey guys. i am a mac user so i am not very good at this question, but my uncle has a windows xp computer and every time he opens quicktime or iTunes, it just gives the generic windows error report pop-up and doesn't load.

whats the solution to this?

Try uninstalling iTunes and reinstalling it. Don't worry, his songs will stay on.

same thing. might get him to try to rollback to itunes 7 or something. it could be the computer just being stupid.

Try having him completely deleting everything, including the files in the registry.
If that doesn't work then maybe he should reinstall Windows XP, obviously after backing up all his information.
