iTunes doesn't import songs

I don't know what has changed, but iTunes on my computer no longer seems to import songs--either when I drag the music files to iTunes on the dock, or when I use the menu. Anyone know what's going on?

what are the songs formatted as? mp3 or anything else?

these are mp3 files.
I also had the same problem with a very large wav file.

Do these same songs play with QuickTime? Are you sure they haven't been previously imported? What are the permissions of your iTunes folder? 🙂
