iTunes doesn't read my iPhone

I have the newest version of iTunes, but when I plug in my iPhone, it doesn't show as a "device". The phone gives me the double-vibrate when I plug it in, so I know the Mac is reading it... but iTunes is not.

I have a 3G that was updated to 4.0.2

Itunes isn't responding to my iphone 4, It keeps freezing up!

I too am having problems with my iphone 4 not working in itunes 10. I was able to sync my iphone 4 the other night after numerous attempts. However, I can't update to the new update. I have 4.0.1 on my iphone now, and every time i plug in my iphone, itunes doesn't respond. I have my force quit applications window open and it automatically shows itunes (not responding) next to it. So i force quit it and try and again only for a repeat everytime.
This is very discouraging! 😡

I'm @ my wits end, how in the heck do I get them to work together? Is it itunes or is it my phone?

Is anyone else having any kind of problems like this? help, I wanna update my iphone 4!
