iTunes doesn't recognize devices after installing High Sierra

I installed High Sierra OS 10.13.6 recently and now my iTunes doesn't recognize any of my devices. I plug in the device and nothing pops up in iTunes to click on phone or iPad icon. I've tried multiple USB ports and they all work with other accessories. I'm using iTunes 12.8. I am needing to transfer some movies from my 27" iMac to my iPad. Any ideas what this could be? I've already tried to uninstall High Sierra and had the same issue.

You need a supplemental download for iTunes on High Sierra if your devices are on iOS12. Just go to Apples website and re-download iTunes from there..

Not sure what you mean by supplemental download. I see iTunes version 12.8 on Apple's website, but that's what i have on my iMac. What version do i need to support iOS12 devices?

Re-download iTunes 12.8 not everyone got the supplemental software with the update for High Sierra. It was included in the Mojave upgrade..

I agree with BugeyeSTI. I literally just finished installing the supplemental software for iTunes with High Sierra. iTunes works like a charm with my iPhone now.
