Why when I drag a folder full of music into itunes it duplicates each mp3 so sometimes there 3 of the same album...sometimes theres only 2 copies...why does it do this?

iTunes imports MP3 and M3U files separately when you drag in a folder. So you can easily get multiple copies if you have any M3U files in the folders...

hmm well like say i take audio files off a cd all mp3s, it would still make duplicates..there are no duplicates in the actual folder. Its like if I add 6 songs it gives me 12

Or maybe something is being messed up by your drag & drop. Try using the "Add to Library" item under the File menu. and select only the MP3 files you want to add, not the folder.

Report back if that still gives you doubles.
