Itunes poped up and said there was a new download so I ticked all the boxes and it is running package scripts but has been doing so for the last 2.5 hrs.it is near the end but has been there for 2hrs.What can I do please.
 
It Took Longer

Than normal on my iMac and my MBA, but 2.5 hours seems a long time.

I wouldn't stop it, it's a big update what spec. is your Pro?
