I bought the movie "Iron Man 3" from iTunes the other day for over $20 and I recently found out I can't burn it to disk!? Does anybody know how I can remove the DRM for free, or a paid app I can use the mac app store. I am going to my friends birthday party and he doesn't have Apple TV so we can't watch it. His TV also doesn't have an HDMI port. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

NOTE: I legitimately bought this movie, I never pirate anything and I buy all my media from the Apple iTunes store. All I want to do is watch the movie! :)

Nope, it'll only play back on devices it can verify your account on. Buy your friend an HDTV & ATV3 for his birthday. You can then AirPlay the movie.

This is why DRM is evil.

People who legit purchase content can't play it the way they want, yet the person who steals it can play it on any device, and do whatever they want with it.

Its a shame that they don't offer DRM Free movies like they do music.

Haha, I am not rich, I wish I could though :)

I know right! :)

Besides, discussing how to remove DRM is against the TOS of these forums. There are methods to do so, but it isn't all that easy.

Personally this is the reason I buy DVD's / BluRays, because I can rip those and play them anywhere.

Removing the DRM is easy and legal, you just need to follow the 2 easy steps below.

Step one : Don't EVER buy from iTunes, buy the DvD of the film

Step Two : Use a copy of any well know legitimate DvD "backup" software to create an iTunes file that has no DRM in it and will play on any device.

This way you can take the DvD to your friends, but enjoy a digital copy on your apple TV/iPhone/iPad/PC/Android Tablet, whatever....

FYI, circumventing the copy protection on DVD or Blueray is still not legit in most of the countries... :(

Can't see how this is against forum rules but here goes.

Warez/Serials/Keys. Do not post software serial numbers or keys or refer people to specific websites, software, or techniques whose purpose is to break or bypass software licensing methods, distribute cracks, or obtain or use commercial software or media in violation of its license and/or for copyright violation. Do not ask for or give such help.

Removing DRM is a copyright violation in most Western countries, in particular the US and the EU.
