iTunes encountered error message

Just bought an iPod video and installed i-tunes but when selecting convert mpeg music video for iPod, the whole system crashes and up comes that stupid programmes encountered an error message. Does anyone know what the problem could be

So I take it you are on Windows? I'm not that 100% familiar with Windows and iTunes, but... do you have the absolute latest version of Quicktime installed?
