iTunes folder and iTunes library don't match

My iTunes library at the bottom says I have 4511 songs at 21.41 GB but my folder says I have 43.72 GB why the discrepancy?

Do you also have movies, podcasts, and audiobooks? Those are not included in the total file size when you're looking at "Songs."

When you have deleted songs in the past did you have the songs moved to thrash after being prompted?

Yes they goto the trash, not kept files
