I apologize if this is not the right place to post this, but thought others might want to take advantage of this. Best Buy has iTunes gift cards (digital delivery) on sale today for 20% off. I just wanted to pass along the deal to others. Mods, if this needs to be moved to another forum, I understand. I wasn't sure where the best place was, and I don't see an off-topic forum. Enjoy!

I saw that, and I am considering it.

I use my debit card on iTunes right now and I get charged tax when I purchase an app or media.

If I use my iTunes gift card to purchase something (I am in NY) will I get charged tax?

Reason I ask is if I buy this gift card I am going to be charged 8% NY sales tax, then 8% again. Not worth the hassle for me if that's the case.

I didn't get charged tax for the gift card. You will get charged tax when you use it to buy apps, books, etc. though.

Here in California when I purchase gift cards I pay the exact amount for the gift card and don't have to pay tax on it.

I shelled out about $50 on iPad apps over the weekend ... hah, wish I knew about this. Good deal :apple:

Some eBay sellers sell £50 cards for £38.50, that's 23% discount, slightly better.

At least in CA, I never paid any sales tax when I purchased several iTunes gift cards over time and never on any iTunes content.

If they had the $25 card on sale I would get one... Looks like its only $50 and up that applies.... I dont really purchase much on iTunes so that would be a waste for me

Bestbuy.com shows the $25 cards on sale for $20 and the $15 on sale for $12, so they do have some lower value cards.

thanks. have some unused rewards and need to buy some content. thanks a lot

This is Why i wish Apple partnered with Hulu the way they did with Netflix. 20-25% off itunes cards is common so It's like getting 20% off of your Netflix bill.
