I've just been setting up another computer for a mate and everything was fine, put some music in and sorted a few playlists. Then the next day all the playlists have gone anyway I ended up reimporting the whole library because that also disappeared, but still nothing is showing at all iTunes. Just a big white window. Weird thing is that I can still play everything and scroll around I just can't see anything.

Also if I create a blank playlist and delete it it immediately quits same if I try to delete any of the default lists. I've cleaned out the caches and prefs and run applejack and whatever else I could think of. But I'm out of ideas bar re installing itunes but it doesn't make sense that I should have to do this.

Re-installing iTunes isn't a particularly hard process, so it couldn't hurt to try, especially seeing what state your in now.

Edit: According to google, the error is to do with bad RAM, regardless of the fact you may never have added new RAM, use your Apple Hardware Test CD and put the test into a loop.

Hold down the CONTROL key and the "L" key when you hit extended test start button and the words "Looping . . ." should appear in the bottom right window.

This is an answer from 2 years ago on a different but similar issue, maybe it will help, maybe it wont, can't hurt to try.

The same white window struck me when I de-installed Aqua4itunes recently. After various attempts to fix it, I re-intalled iTunes and all is fine once more. Get a new ap. at Apple's website.

Yeah I was thinking about reinstalling iTunes. It comes in a package though and I was wondering seeing as this is a new installation that I should go to the receipts folder and get rid of the original itunes receipt. Or not?

I just had the exact same problem with my itunes. re-installed and everything is right where it should be.
