Hi

I'm having a little problem. After updating itunes it no longer opens. I've tried uninstalling it and reinstalling and it still doesn't work. Anyone else have this problem? Any ideas how to fix this?

try moving [home folder]/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iTunes.plist to the desktop and then opening? Or holding down Option while opening to manually select the library (in case it's a library location confusion issue)?

I tried what you said and no luck. It is pointing to the right location. Any other ideas?

not much I'm afraid - there's always the old stand-by: Utilities > Disk Utility : Repair Permissions.

You could also try moving the iTunes Library file to the desktop to see if it's that that's the problem rather than iTunes itself.

And if you can be arsed, try making a new account, log on to it, and see if iTunes opens from there (that will test whether it's a user set up issue, or a deeper system wide problem)

also.. you're not running iTunes 7.3 perchance? noticed that the current update: " iTunes 7.3.1 addresses a minor problem with iTunes 7.3 accessing the iTunes Library."

I've got it working. I deleted everything related to itunes then reinstalled it. It still didn't work so I dragged the program from the HD folder to the desktop and then it opened. I dragged it back to the HD folder and it still works. I have no idea why but it does work now.

Thanks for the help:)
