Ok i need some help regarding itunes.

I have approx 80gig of music on an external HD. When I try playing this music using my macbook, it seem to import the music to the laptop HD which i do not want as I only have 120gig HD and 80gig of music would take up most of that.

I have also recently got a tim capsule so I was wondering if there was a way in which I could connect the HD to the TC and then see what is on the external HD in itunes and instead it copying it over, simply stream it off the HD.

Any ideas on this?

I keep all my iTunes music on an external HD too.
Go to the iTunes prefs > Advanced > General.. There you can select your iTunes music folder location, which will be your external HD.

Also, and this is optional.. I uncheck "Keep iTunes music folder organised" (Simply because I can keep a better track of it all if I do it myself)
And also unchecked is "Copy files to iTunes music folder when adding to library" I add it all myself, so again, I keep a better track of it that way. If iTunes does it all for you, then its easy to get lost when on the odd occasion, it gets something wrong.

As for Time Machine.. I don't have a clue im afraid, as I have not used it yet. But im interested to know this too, so i look forward to someone else helping out on that one :)
