iTunes - how to edit play counts now?

Does anyone know how to edit play counts, etc. now as old Apple scripts don't seem to work in the post iCloud Music Library era?
Editing the xml file no longer works, as I guess it's being over-ridden by what's in the Cloud.
What would happen if I switched off iCloud ML, edited the xml, then re-enabled iCloud ML?

I filed a bug report with Apple and it turns out it’s already an open issue, so Apple knows about it. Now we wait.

I'm aware of that, and that is why I mentioned in my op that the old scripts didn't work!
One of my main questions was about switching off iCloud ML, editing and then switching it back on.
Any thoughts on that?

I have no idea how or why my last reply was posted as by 'mattoligy'!!!! It was from me, 'imacken'.
Maybe a mod should look at that.
