iTunes ID3 Tag Problem

Well I use iTunes on both Windows and Mac OS X (just recently got my Mac ), but when I rip a CD to MP3 I don't get any ID3 tags written in Mac OS X whereas under Windows they are. If I then copy the album from my Mac to PC and import it into iTunes no track information is shown which is a bit of a pain.

Settings for iTunes under both OS's are the same, so i'm a bit puzzled

Can anyone help?

After ripping the CD, mark the mp3s, choose Advanced -> Convert ID3 Tags... and choose the appropriate ID3 tag version.
