When importing my CD's several songs freeze in the middle of being imported, my disk drive then proceeds to make wierd noises and i am forced to force quit my itunes. There are no scratches on the Cd's, they are completely clean, and the majority of my songs went on without any problem it was only these few. If you could help it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Well, if the CDs are clean and totally free from scratches (even very hard to see scratches can, in my experience, cause iTunes to freeze up), and you've performed all the usual rituals for making the Mac happy (i.e. repairing permissions etc.), then I think it might be time to try to clean the drive itself. Get one of those CD/DVD cleaners an run it a couple of times and see if it gets better. If not it's time to call Apple... ;)

Thanks, I'm positive there are no scratches because the cd is brand new, plus ones that are totally scratched usually work. I'll try cleaning the drive.
