I've just noticed that iTunes in the cloud downloads seem to be for the original format purchased and don't take into account music that's been upgraded to iTunes Plus: I have a couple of albums that were originally purchased as protected AAC but were subsequently upgraded to iTunes Plus. However, if I download them again from iTunes, they are coming over in the original iTunes format which is a lower bitrate and quality.
Music I originally purchased in iTunes Plus format is fine, it's just these upgraded ones that are a problem.
