Itunes keeps asking for Update

Hello all and a happy new year


its seems as though iTunes 12.0.1 keeps showing up as though there's an update. I perform the update, but continues to appear.

If you have auto update turned on, turn it off and then try downloading and installing.

From my brief search, it appears that many people have had problems trying to update iTunes 12.
