iTunes keeps opening non stop

and that wouldn't be a problem if it wasnt a laptop and my music wasnt on an external hd. So if you can help me make it stop please do.

Are you downloading music from any programs?


Some programs automatically import that music into iTunes.
 
Do you have any iTunes-related widgets open? They're the primary suspect when this happens.
