I have this problem with iTunes that's really frustrating. I have some 7,000+ songs (largely classical music, all well organized). When I plug in my iPad, for some reason or another, it keeps re-resyncing some ~3,500 tracks—even though they're already on there (I don't know what these ~3,500 tracks have in common). The same thing happens with my iPhone, except it's something like the same ~2,200 tracks (that's because my iPhone's capacity is smaller so I have it so sync only checked songs).
If, immediately after I let it finish syncing my iPad, I unplug it and plug it back in and let it sync, it's just fine—it won't resync anything at all. If I make a couple changes in my library, unplug it and plug it back in, it'll update to reflect those changes (maybe sync 20 tracks or so, if it is 20 tracks that I change). But if, after I finish syncing my iPad, I unplug it and plug in my iPhone... that'll re-sync its 2,200 or so tracks. If, when that is finished, I then unplug my iPhone and plug in my iPad it resyncs ~3,500 tracks again!
I've even reformatted my iPad. On my iPhone I unchecked "Sync Music", synced, and checked "Sync Music" and synced again to refresh everything. None of that helped.
Must it do this? Something seems to be wrong here.
I'm using the newest versions of iOS, OS X, and iTunes.
