iTunes "Last Played" not working

Sometimes the "last played" does not work...I just played a song I have never played before, and when it went to the next song, no date and time appeared. I let the track play all the way through...
Anyone seen this before?

I see (on your profile) that you're on OS X (a 24" iMac to be precise), but as not everyone here is, you should post that when asking about iTunes.

Try a permission repair (in Disk Utility)
