iTunes Library on multiple HDs

Hopefully this is the right forum, if not my apologies.

I'm running Snow Leopard with iTunes 10.3, there is any way to have an iTunes Library divided on multiple physical disks?
To make an example, I do not need to bring the whole library with me on mt MBP, I'd like to leave most of it on a Firewire Array I've at home and maintain some music and shows on the laptop.
Clearly iTunes syncs with my iPad 2 running the latest iOS.

Any way to achieve this?
