Has anybody hit the limits of iTunes?

Let's not talk about speed, because iTunes is terribly slow, the bigger it gets, that's unfortunately a given within the current library structure (and annoying).

But has anybody reached the maximum number of songs you can store? A friend of mine has way over 260,000 songs and I do worry about his library.

I have a collection of like 80,000 songs and then one time, for some reason, iTunes added all of the audio clips from a few different video games that I had installed on my PC. I want to say it had over 300,000 files, but many of them were less than 5 seconds long, and a lot were 1 second. Thats obviously far less data than if all those audio clips had been 3-5 minute songs, but I didn't see any super noticeable drop in iTunes performance when that happened. That was a couple years ago, though.
